Moscow’s Troika transport smartcard becomes available at Sberbank Online, mobile application of the biggest bank of Russia, Sberbank. In order to buy or top up their tickets, passengers should choose Payments option and fill in the number of their Troika card. After that, the ticket has to be activated either in Moscow Metro or in mobile apps (Moscow Metro and Sberbank Online, available for Android phones with NFC). The ticket has to be activated within a month.
Максим Ликсутов, заместитель мэра Москвы по вопросам транспорта: «Moscow is one of the world’s leading cities in the development of electronic services on public transport. We have the best ticketing system, the most ways to pay for travel. In addition, passengers have more and more convenient opportunities to top up the Troika card remotely. Now this feature is available in the mobile application of the main bank of the country, which will make traveling in Moscow transport even more comfortable, – said Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maksim Liksutov.
Sberbank, together with the Moscow Department of Transport, consistently implement modern digital solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of the capital’s transport and ensuring the most comfortable movement in public transport for residents and guests of Moscow. In particular, today the owner of the Troika card can easily top it up in Sberbank Online and in the bank’s self-service devices, – said Vyacheslav Tsybulnikov, Vice President of Sberbank, Chairman of Moskovsky Bank.
Troika is the most popular element of Moscow’s ticketing system. By now, more than 36 million Troikas have been sold. In June, Moscow’s ticketing system received a Transport Ticketing Award in the category Best Smart Ticketing Programme (>1m Daily Journeys) for the project of expanding the city’s ticketing system to other regions of Russia. In total, more than 47 regions are interested in integrating the system.
