Ursus-3 Capital has achieved a historic milestone for the Spanish financial industry by being recognised by the CNMV as the first Entity Responsible for Registration and Recording (ERIR) in Spain, thereby enabling the registration and supervision of tokenisedne gotiable securities issuances. This achievement makes Ursus-3 Capital the first ERIR entity in Spain to receive official approval from the regulator to offer these services to third parties, in collaboration with ONYZE and Token City, for the proper execution of their respective tokenised asset issuances on DLT systems.
With this approval, what is possibly the most anticipated player in recent times for the entire financial ecosystem in Spain comes into play, specifically regarding the development
of tokenised securities issuances through DLT systems. This milestone, therefore, unlocks a
new vertical within the securities markets, which will undoubtedly mark a before and after
in the industry.
Juan Jurado, General Director at Ursus-3 Capital:
“We are proud to be pioneers in providing ERIR services and thus act as a launchpad for successful tokenised issuances of real assets. We firmly believe that the tokenisation of real assets opens up a universe of possibilities for entrepreneurs, and it is equally important to ensure the legal security of investors.”
This joint service offering by Ursus-3 Capital, ONYZE, and Token City will provide not only
full regulatory coverage through the ERIR framework for tokenised issuances but also the
technological expertise contributed by ONYZE through its software for developing custody
wallets used to store and manage private keys, as well as by Token City, which provides
the necessary technology for the issuance, registration, and management of tokenised
assets.
Ángel Luis Quesada Nieto, CEO of ONYZE:
“Thanks to the new Securities Markets and Investment Services Law, the introduction of blockchain for the management of tokenised real assets is now a reality, and at Onyze, we seek the best partners to collaborate with. Our alliance with Ursus-3 Capital, joined by Token City, allows us to fill a necessary gap by providing a secure, regulated, and innovative service to any tokenised project in Spain.”
The designation of Ursus-3 Capital as the first Entity Responsible for Registration and
Recording (ERIR) in Spain marks a pivotal moment for the financial sector, opening new
opportunities for the tokenisation of real assets and strengthening the ecosystem’s
confidence in this innovative investment model, which already has pioneering projects
underway.
Yael H. Oaknin, CEO of Token City:
“We are proud to contribute with our technological infrastructure to this transition towards the tokenised economy alongside pioneering entities in their sectors, such as Ursus-3 Capital and Onyze.”
Following the achievement of this historic milestone, Ursus-3 Capital, ONYZE, and Token
City are already working to facilitate Spain’s first regulated tokenised issuance under the
ERIR framework. Dianelum will be the pioneering company to execute the first issuance of
tokenised securities valued at €5 million. This innovative financing model, internationally
known as a Security Token Offering (STO) and now fully regulated under Spanish legislation, allows investors to acquire securities digitally in a far more agile and direct
manner than traditional alternative methods.
