Melinda Gates' Pivotal Ventures and M12 name CLEDARA

Cledara Limited (“Cledara”), a groundbreaking purchase and analytics platform for the subscription economy, announces that it has been selected by Microsoft’s venture fund, M12, along with Melinda Gates’ Pivotal Ventures and Mayfield Fund as one of the top 5 female-founded enterprise software startups outside of the US as part of their global Female Founders Competition.

The final was originally planned to take place in Silicon Valley, but was changed to an online event due to ongoing public health concerns. Over the next two days, finalists will pitch to an all-female panel of judges for the chance to share in $6 million of investment.

The competition seeks to promote the world’s leading female-founded startups and help to address the under-investment in female-founded companies, which raised only 2.8% of venture capital in 2019 according to PitchBook.

More information about the competition and details of the other finalists can be found by reading M12’s announcement and the Microsoft Blog.

Cristina Vila, Founder and CEO of Cledara, said: “Since I started my journey at Cledara, I have been privileged to meet lots of great female founders. High profile initiatives like the Female Founders Competition that are able to catch the attention of people beyond the startup ecosystem are a great platform to help raise awareness about the success of female-led companies and inspire more women to become founders.”
